Gluten Free Eating in Paris

Gluten Free Eating in Paris is Possible!

Ah, Paris—the city of love, light, and an obscene amount of gluten. If you’re a woman who enjoys both a stylish beret and a happy gut, navigating the boulangeries and patisseries sans gluten might seem like an impossible feat. But fear not, ma chérie, I have sipped, savored, and sampled my way through the City of Lights to bring you the ultimate gluten-free guide—so you can eat like a Parisienne, without the gut pain. Let’s show you all the gluten free places to eat in Paris!

The Gluten Free Patisseries of Your Dreams!

Next up- Chambelland. This Boulangerie is organic and gluten free with selections from full bread loafs, slices of focaccia, cookies, sweet and savory pastries and even lunch options! My favorite thing I tried is called sugar bread. It’s a long stick like “mixture of warm brioche, cannelé and bread pudding”. That’s their definition. You’ll just have to go to Paris to try it for yourself. It’s in the top right hand picture.

For the ultimate in refinement, step into the Four Seasons Hotel George V, a palace in every sense of the word. Nestled just off the Champs-Élysées, this opulent haven offers a stunning array of gluten-free options. We just went here on a whim to experience the luxury that can only be found at the Four Seasons and it did not disappoint. It was definitely a splurge, but oh so memorable! As you can see from the pictures above, we ordered chocolate croissants, apple turnovers, and avocado toast. They have top of the line service and will accommodate all gluten free needs.

Extra Indulgent Gluten Free Treats Steeped in Parisian History

Now if you’re looking for the ultimate in Parisian indulgence, step into the historic Angelina, a tea room dripping in charm. Known for their legendary hot chocolate—a rich, velvety hot chocolate so thick it feels like a dessert in itself—Angelina also offers gluten-free options, including their signature Mont Blanc dessert (pictured above) made with chestnut cream, meringue, and whipped cream. Obviously, I would dine in for the whole experience, but they also offer desserts to go at the front of the store, along with merchandise. Angelina is just one of those Parisian traditions you have to experience at least once. We went here to get out of the Spring rain and it was a lovely place to warm up and recharge.

For a taste of true Parisian refinement, a visit to Ladurée is a must. With its gilded interiors, pastel hues, and timeless charm, this legendary patisserie has been delighting Parisians and travelers alike since 1862. While their signature croissants may be off-limits for those who are gluten free, their iconic macarons—crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and bursting with delicate flavors—are almost all naturally gluten-free. Now if you’re looking for something a little more indulgent, then dine in and ask your waiter what options are gluten free. I shared the above dessert with my sisters and it was worth every bite. I would have to say I prefer Ladurée over Angelinas. They offer more gluten free options and I enjoy the atmosphere more. It just feels very indulgent and opulent. Let me know which you prefer!

My Two Favorite Gelato Spots

Need to cool off? Stop by Grom gelato. They offer gluten free cones which is a real treat! I’ve been here before when I went to Rome and knew it was good so we stopped by for treat to take with us as we strolled the streets of Paris. Another great gelato spot we really enjoyed was Amorino. These are located all over the world, and although they don’t offer gluten free cones, their gelato is very tasty. You may have seen the gelato shaped in a rose petal pattern, that’s Amorino!

Gluten Free Lunch or Dinner Restaurants

Ok I think it’s time for some lunch and dinner options! Tucked away in Paris, Buckwheat Crêperie offers a refined take on traditional Breton galettes, all naturally gluten-free. Made from buckwheat flour, their crêpes have a rich, nutty flavor that pairs perfectly with both sweet and savory fillings. From aged Comté with truffle honey to the classic butter and sea salt, each dish is simple, elegant, and full of French charm.

If you’re looking for gluten free Italian food, then you’ve got to check out Little Nonna– absolutely delicious! This charming trattoria specializes in 100% gluten-free Italian cuisine, serving everything from house-made pasta to crispy, golden pizzas that rival those of Rome. The ambiance is effortlessly sophisticated—think candlelit tables, warm hospitality, and an atmosphere that whispers dolce vita with a Parisian twist.

If you’re craving some Latin American flavor, then check out El Vecino. El Vecino in Paris is a great spot for gluten-free eats, especially if you love tacos. Their corn tortillas are naturally gluten-free and packed with flavorful fillings like grilled meats, fresh veggies, and zesty salsas. Don’t forget to try their crispy tortilla chips with house-made guacamole or salsa. It’s a laid-back place with delicious food, perfect for anyone looking for a gluten-free meal without missing out on great flavor. We were able to sit along the street at their outdoor patio.

Now let’s travel to Thailand with our tastebuds. Thai food is probably my favorite type of food and Kapunka did not disappoint. This cozy spot is known for its flavorful dishes made with fresh ingredients and plenty of gluten-free options. From rich, coconut-based curries to fragrant pad Thai made with rice noodles, you won’t have to worry about missing out on your favorites.

Their menu is clearly labeled, making it easy to enjoy a delicious, worry-free meal. Whether you’re diving into a spicy green curry or starting out your meal with spring rolls, Kapunka brings the vibrant flavors of Thailand to the heart of Paris. As you are starting to see, eating gluten free in Paris is proving to be a cultural experience!

If you’re in Paris and craving something fresh and fun, Lou Lou brings a taste of Australia with plenty of gluten-free options. This laid-back spot serves up colorful, flavorful dishes like gluten-free avocado toast, vibrant poke bowls, and juicy burgers with gluten-free buns. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty brunch or a light, healthy meal, they’ve got you covered. With its relaxed vibe and sunny Aussie hospitality, Lou Lou is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious gluten-free meal in the heart of Paris. We ordered a gluten free club sandwich and acai bowl. I really loved the fun atmosphere!

Okay, I’ve saved the best for last! For a fun and delicious gluten-free meal in Paris, La Sajerie is the place to go! Specializing in Lebanese-style saj, a thin, gluten-free flatbread cooked on a domed griddle, this cozy spot serves up fresh, flavorful wraps filled with everything from creamy hummus and grilled veggies to spiced meats and melty cheese.

This was my favorite place we went to and my sisters and brother in law agreed! We went three times! We couldn’t get enough of it. The owner was so friendly and would let us sample different menu items. He made everything right in front of us and all the flavors were so fresh and balanced.

I want to try and recreate it at home. The wraps were probably our favorite, but we also tried the bowls and salads. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. There’s not much seating, but you can always get it to go. Totally worth it!

As you can see, eating gluten free in Paris is no problem. From flaky pastries, to authentic ethnic flavors, Paris has every type of food you could want. I’ve only scratched the surface, but I hope it helps you navigate this must see city on your next trip! And be sure to let me know what gluten free gems you find!
